Front Circle Area   
    The founders of Greenmount Cemetery were people of Salem Church. The Greenmount Cemetery Association is under the sponsorship of Salem Evangelical United Church of Christ and its directors are to be elected from the membership of the church. Since 1875 the cemetery has continued to grow and has increased in size from the original 15 acres to over 100 acres, with approximately 50 acres yet to be developed.
    Thus, what began as an idea and conducted along Christian principles has developed into an institution that has truly become a part of Quincy and the surrounding area.
    Here for the past 125 years have been enshrined the sacred memories of loved ones drawn from all walks of life.
    The purpose of Greenmount Cemetery will always be to maintain the tradition set by its founders:

"To hold in sacred trust the memories
of loved ones entrusted to its care."
